How to Use PairCast
Three steps. Two devices. One WiFi network. You'll be mirroring in under 30 seconds.
Step 1
Open PairCast on the iPad
Launch PairCast and tap "Receive a screen". The iPad will display a QR code and a 6-character pairing code. Keep this screen visible — the iPhone will scan it next.
Step 2
Scan the code with the iPhone
Open PairCast on the iPhone, tap "Send my screen", and point the camera at the iPad's QR code. You can also type the 6-character code manually if the camera can't reach it.
Step 3
Start broadcasting
Once paired, tap the broadcast button on the iPhone. iOS will ask you to confirm — tap "Start Broadcast". Your iPhone screen instantly appears on the iPad. Use your iPhone normally; the mirror runs in the background.
Tips for the best experience
- Same WiFi network — both devices must be on the same WiFi. The video goes directly between them, never through the internet.
- 5 GHz WiFi preferred — if your router supports dual-band, connect both devices to the 5 GHz band for the lowest latency (<100 ms).
- Keep the iPhone unlocked — PairCast keeps your screen on while broadcasting, but if you manually lock the phone the mirror will pause until you unlock.
- Stop broadcasting — tap the red pill in the iPhone's status bar, then tap "Stop". The iPad will return to the pairing screen.
- Audio — audio mirroring is coming soon. Currently only the screen is mirrored.
